PayPal Refunds
Paypal transactions initiated on an Acceptiva payment form are able to be refunded from within the Acceptiva Client manager. Refunds are performed the same way as refunds for transactions not processed through a third party are performed: by clicking the details modal for the transaction and clicking the 'Refund' button at the top of the modal.
Once the refund has been initiated, PayPal handles processing of transferring the money back to the payer. If the requested refund is successfully sent to PayPal, then the transaction will be marked as refunded in your Acceptiva Client Manager reporting, and the pending refund will appear in your and the payer's PayPal account. However, since PayPal is handling the actual refund, it may take several days for the refund to be processed, after which the refund may be successful or may fail. If the refund does ultimately fail, Acceptiva is not notified by PayPal, so the status will not be updated in your Acceptiva Client Manager reporting. To confirm that the refund was indeed successful, we recommend that you and the donor both check your PayPal accounts. If the refund failed, it can be reprocessed in your PayPal account.
