Transaction Flagged as Suspected Fraud
One of the ways Acceptiva identifies potential fraud is by limiting the number of times a transaction authorization can be attempted and fail. If the transaction fails too many times, the transaction will ultimately be prevented from attempting any further authorizations.
Failed transaction authorizations are blocked in two stages. First, after the transaction fails to be authorized after three attempts, the payer will be presented with a warning message in a pop-up window. If the payer contacts their card issuer and corrects the issue with their payment method, they will be able to edit their payment information for this transaction and proceed to successfully complete the transaction.
Second, after the transaction fails to be authorized ten times, the transaction will be blocked from attempting any further authorization attempts, and the payer will be navigated to a suspected fraud screen and away from the payment form.
In most cases, high frequencies of failed authorizations are fraudulent transaction attempts using incorrect data or bad credit card numbers by running a script on the form, and blocking further authorization attempts in this way will put an end to any fraudulent attempts at creating transactions. In the case it is a legitimate payer attempting to make a transaction, they should contact their bank to discover and resolve the issue with their payment method. Closing the the browser and/or clearing their cookies before re-opening the form will start a new transaction session, and they will be able to successfully complete their payment.
